Incheon United vs Ulsan Hyundai
Two clubs with contrasting objectives figure in a top-bottom clash in the 22nd matchday in the K-League this weekend as Ulsan Hyundai visit Incheon United at their home pitch.
The Mariners are still scrapping to avoid being in the drop zone while the Horangi will look to maintain their control at the top spot of the K-League table by trying to get back to their winning ways.
Ulsan Hyundai suffered a brutal loss against the defending champions in the Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors during the last time out, and that slightly cut their advantage over the rest of the league.
As of the moment, the Horangi have 47 points while Jeonbuk continue to play catch up at second and they are trailing by only two points.
Meanwhile, a victory this weekend will help Incheon United in a big way.
Since they are level with the Suwon Bluewings with 18 points, who are struggling as of late, they can go to as high as the 10th spot especially if Busan I’Park don’t get a positive result this weekend.

Incheon United will be tested
For a while, it felt like the Mariners’ boat was sinking. However, with their never say die attitude and improving play, Incheon were able to draw out some positive K-League 2020 results.
Since mid-August, Incheon gathered four wins, one loss, and one draw, and they have hit their stride particularly on the defensive end.
Three of those wins were clean sheets. Meanwhile, they were able to survive in a shootout against Gangwon FC.
Stefan Mugosa lead Incheon United in scoring with eight goals already this term and three of those came versus Gangwon FC 11 days ago.
His resurgence has been a welcome sight for the Mariners. And at one time, the forward mentioned that his club will fight until the end regardless of the result.
Meanwhile, Song Si-woo is finding his target anew. The 27-year-old forward has been heavily featured during their previous tiff against FC Seoul and he scored the marginal goal at the 73rd minute.
Can they keep this up against a vaunted team in Ulsan? If they can somehow make the Horangi uncomfortable, they will be giving themselves a great chance to draw out a positive result at home.
Ulsan Hyundai need to have others involved
Ulsan Hyundai are coming into this game with some sense of urgency. They know that if they won’t win this weekend, that might give their rivals a sliver of hope to eventually knock them out on top.
So far they have yet to solve the puzzle that is the Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors as they lost once more in their reverse fixture.
Before that, they have missed their chances in breaking away from the pack as they failed to put away Daegu FC and Gwangju FC.
They have been over reliant on Junior Negrao, who continues to lead the K-League with 23 goals so far this term.
But if they want to hold on to the top spot and avoid a repeat of last year’s meltdown, other guys would need to contribute to their goal count.
Lee Chung-yong, Yoon Bit-garam, and Bjorn Johnsen would need to find their groove sooner or later.

Incheon United and Ulsan Hyundai have faced off in 35 matches already.
The Horangi own the upper hand in the head-to-heads with 17 wins while the Mariners only won seven times along with 11 draws.
In their first meeting of the 2020 season, Ulsan crushed Incheon with a 4-1 victory. It was their third win out of their last four encounters.
Incheon United’s last win over Ulsan Hyundai dates back to two years ago.
