NBA: Red-Hot Jazz Taking the League by Storm, Slumping Nets Need to Perform

With seven consecutive wins off the bounce, the Utah Jazz are officially the hottest team in the NBA

After successfully beating Zion Williamson and the Pelicans last Thursday, they plan on extending their winning streak to eight matches tomorrow as part of our seven-game slate.

Aside from that, the Lakers continue their East Coast road trip against the improving Bulls, while the Rockets and Mavericks figure in a Texas showdown.

Meanwhile, the Pistons, Nets, Timberwolves, and the Suns have plans to defend home court when their rivals visit town.

Philadelphia Sixers @ Detroit Pistons

The Sixers are keen to improve their road record as they visit the Pistons.

Although they are on top of the Eastern Conference standings with an 11-5 record, they have struggled on the road with only two wins and four losses.

The Sixers are enjoying a win streak with back-to-back victories over the Celtics.

Joel Embiid was unstoppable as he averaged 40 points and 10.5 rebounds in those two games, while Tobias Harris backstopped him with an average 22.5 points per game.

Now that they’re a much healthier club, they should very well be on their way to beat the Pistons and extend their streak to three games.

Miami Heat @ Brooklyn Nets

The star-studded Nets will face a new challenge when they host the defending Eastern Conference champions.

Since the unveiling of their new partnership, so far their results have been lacklustre with back-to-back defeats versus the Cavaliers.

Granted that Kevin Durant was out in the second game, one thing that’s worrying about the Nets is their porous defence.

They have conceded a whopping total of 272 points in those contests and it didn’t help when Collin Sexton suddenly got hot in those games.

Meanwhile, the Heat are still trying to cope without their stars.

Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro are out due to their respective knocks, which leaves Bam Adebayo to shoulder the heavy load of their offence.

Brooklyn Nets are determined to find their momentum in the NBA with a win over Miami Heat
Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant in action against Cleveland Cavaliers during first quarter match at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

New Orleans Pelicans @ Minnesota Timberwolves

Two languishing teams will go head-to-head in Minnesota tomorrow.

The Pelicans and the Timberwolves are suffering losing skids, making this match a must-win to boost their NBA 2021 odds in the Western Conference.

New Orleans lost both games in their mini-series against the Jazz, while the Timberwolves have lost four in a row against the Magic and the Hawks.

With Karl-Anthony Towns missing games due to COVID-19, the Timberwolves will need a miracle to break out of their rut.

Betting Tip: New Orleans Pelicans Asian Handicap -8.00 @ 1.95

Golden State Warriors @ Utah Jazz

The Jazz stake their seven-game winning streak when they host the Warriors tomorrow at home.

While the Jazz offence is getting all the headlines for their success, one mustn’t overlook their rock-solid defence as well.

The Quin Snyder-coached squad has only surrendered 106 points per game in only 44.1-per cent shooting from the field – good for second in the Western Conference.

This game will feature some of the league’s recognisable names in Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, Steph Curry, and Draymond Green.

Mitchell and Curry are sure to light up the scoreboard, while Gobert and Green will battle it out on the defencive end.

Betting Tip: Utah Jazz Asian Handicap -6.50 @ 1.94

Los Angeles Lakers @ Chicago Bulls

The Lakers are keen extending their road winning streak as they visit the Bulls tomorrow. The 2020 NBA champions are undefeated on the road as they’ve won eight straight already.

After losing at home against the Warriors last Monday, the Lakers made amends by beating the Bucks in a star-studded showdown.

Facing the Bulls this time around won’t be a walk in the park for the Lakers as the former has improved dramatically under head coach Billy Donovan.

Chicago are in the midst of a three-game winning streak – with impressive victories over the Mavericks, Rockets, and Hornets.

Betting Tip: Los Angeles Lakers Asian Handicap -9.50 @ 2.04

Houston Rockets @ Dallas Mavericks

Two of the NBA’s intriguing teams face off in Texas tomorrow.

The new-look Rockets will meet Luka Doncic and co. in a game that should feature a lot of buckets and NBA 2021 highlights.

Houston escaped with a victory in the last time out against Detroit, while Dallas fended off a late rally to beat San Antonio.

John Wall remains sidelined for this game, which should give the Mavericks a significant edge in our SBOTOP odds.

Denver Nuggets @ Phoenix Suns

The Nuggets and the Suns will go at it again in Part 2 of their mini-series.

Denver got the best of Phoenix last night in OT as Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray had stellar performances against Devin Booker and Chris Paul.

Jokic flirted with a triple-double by scoring 31 points, 10 rebounds, and eight dimes, while Jamal Murray had 18 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists.

Michael Porter Jr. played his first game since December 29 because of COVID-19 protocols. He contributed well in his first game back and he should be the x-factor for Denver tomorrow.
